Sir Crispin dela Rochefoucauld is a member of the Society for Creative Anachronism who has been recognized for his contributions to the arts, sciences, and martial communities. While his SCA journey began in the mid-1990s with a focus on rapier activities, it quickly turned to armored combat and ultimately led to his admission to the Order of Chivalry in 2013. Crispin served as Queen's Champion and currently serves as the Midrealm Armored General, demonstrating leadership and dedication to community stewardship. As the North Oaken Regional Minister of Arts & Sciences, he revitalized regional fairs and plays a key logistical role in the Regnum Castellani Mediterranei Perpetua group who are responsible for the operation of Pennsic Royal encampment. An accomplished artisan, Crispin has created and repaired various regalia, enhancing the SCA's cultural richness. His ongoing commitment to mentorship and event stewardship fosters creativity and camaraderie within the society.
Notable Projects
- Midrealm Assistive Listening System Builder and primary operator based on the East Kingdom system. The ALS is a Listen WiFi server and access point that broadcasts audio in a private non internet network to peoples WiFi enabled devices so that they can use their headphones, Bluetooth earbuds or hearing aids to discreetly listen to courts.
- As Regional Minister of Arts and Sciences was instrumental in revitalizing the interest in kingdom-wide regional arts and sciences fairs in the post Covid SCA.
- Logistical staff and land agent for royal encampment since 2022. Work extensively with staff to improve operations through effective communication and documentation of procedures. Designed several projects for the populace and staff to use during the event, including flat pack pub tables and torch boxes.
- Consultation and creation of several kingdom regalia pieces including repairs to Oathbinder’s case and creating the case for Humilitas’, royal scribal boxes, as well as interkingdom gifts.
- Leadership roles in the Midrealm army including armored general, working to improve logistics and communications between commanders and Pennsic staff.
